My Arewa Data Science Fellowship Journey Part-II
After finishing the first stage of Arewa Data Science Fellowship Programme a few weeks ago, I’m excited to tell you about completing the second stage, all about Data Science. Where we learned exciting topics such as:
- Writing in the Sciences: In the “Writing in the Sciences” course on Coursera, we learned practical techniques to become more effective writers, with topics ranging from principles of good writing to ethical issues in scientific publication. This course provided invaluable insights and exercises to hone our writing skills, crucial for conveying scientific discoveries accurately.
- Data Science with Python: This course equipped us with a robust foundation in data science concepts and practical skills. We delved into data wrangling and exploration, mastering tools like NumPy and Pandas for data manipulation and cleaning. Through hands-on exercises, we gained proficiency in generating insightful visualizations using Matplotlib and Seaborn libraries enabling us to identify patterns and trends within our datasets. Moreover, we learned best practices for data communication, ensuring that our insights are effectively conveyed to decision-makers.
Throughout the program, we had the privilege of learning from various instructors Dr. Shamsuddeen H Mohammad, Lukman Aliyu, Dr Ibrahim and Dr Idris Abdulmumin who imparted their expertise in the field. This comprehensive curriculum, combined with practical experience, has provided us with the confidence to approach data science projects with proficiency. We are now equipped to extract valuable insights from data and contribute meaningfully to the field of data science.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to the entire Arewa Data Science team for their support and guidance throughout this rewarding journey. Jazakumullahu bikahir. Below is the link of my GitHub repo containing my Data Science Projects
